KLE2

In the Beginning

KLE2 started out as Kenlow Enlow in the late 1980’s getting smoked in rap battles during lunch in High School to rapping at parties and some (at least one) school dance. From the start to the present KLE2 has written over at least 100 rhymes, most of these were on an external hard drive that crashed though some still can be found on the internet. In the 90’s KLE2 started going by MCKLE and modified some of his earlier material to have Christian friendly lyrics. KLE2 dropped the MC but then decided that since his Father had the same initials, he would go by KLE2.

In the late 90’s, KLE2 bought a drum set and taught himself how to play but sold it to one of the youth at church sometime later. In the early 2002 KLE2 bought a bass guitar and taught himself how to play it and later in 2006, an acoustic guitar which he also taught himself to play. The album KLE2 1991-2006 was recorded in 2006 using Real Life Church’s sound equipment, with KLE2 playing bass, acoustic guitar, and a couple of friends’ drum kits. The album contains one song written during KLE2’s Senior Year of High School, a few others written in the times since, and a few acoustic tracks. It was later uploaded to Purevolume.com.

The EP Mo Music was recorded on a laptop in 2008 while the EP Odds and Ends (Originally Ins) was recorded on the same laptop in 2009. Both were uploaded to Purevolume, while one track evidently didn’t make it there as it now leads to an error page.

Bad Acoustic Covers

In 2014, KLE2 recorded a few acoustic covers that were uploaded to YouTube using chords found on Ultimate-guitar.com. From there KLE2 decided to record an album of bad acoustic covers. The included some original material mixed with some cover material (Intro, Outro, Bits N’ Pieces Melody) with some straight up covers. It was to big to be uploaded in its’ whole for Purevolume, thus it was split into two albums Bad Acoustic Covers I & II. It was recorded on video camera and then mixed into mp3s. Bad Acoustic Covers 3 was released in April of 2015 and was also too big for Purevolume, so a two track Bonus album was also uploaded. It was recorded the same way as it’s predecessors.

Bad Acoustic Covers IV was released in July of 2015 and the guitar tracks were recorded by Webcam Video while the vocal tracks were recorded by headset mic. The guitar tracks on Bad Acoustic Covers V: I Hear Dead People were half record by Webcam Video and half by video camera, while the vocals were recorded on headset mic, it was released in June of 2017. Bad Acoustic Broadway Covers was released in February of 2018 as was recorded by video camera and headset mic. When KLE2 started recording Bad Acoustic Covers VII , it was recorded the same way as its predecessor but later KLE2 bought a desktop mic. So, for now on guitar tracks are recorded using the desktop mic while the vocals are recorded on headset mic. VII was released in April of 2018. A Greatest Hits Album called Greatest Non-Hit Bad Acoustic Covers with three new tracks was also released in April of 2018. KLE2 Bad Acoustic Covers Number 9 was released in September of 2018. KLE2 released BAC X in April of 2019 . In addition to the covers, the album also includes KLE2’s first original Hip Hop track since 2009 as well as an original instrumental. In September of 2019 KLE2 released BAC 11. In November of 2019 KLE2 released BAC 12. This album contained most of the songs featured on EA NCAA Football 06 and the cover for the album reflected this. Almost two months later, KLE2 released a BAC Christmas Album entitled KLE2 Bad Acoustic Covers Xmas. BAC 13 and BAC Greatest Non-Hits, a best of album with one new track, were both released in April of 2020.

The Site

When KLE2 was close to finishing Bad Acoustic Covers VII, he found out the Purevolume, the site he had his music hosted on since the start, was shutting down at the end of April 2018. Instead of finding another site to upload his albums to, he just created this one. After Number 9 was released, KLE2 discovered that its’ tracks as well as some of the other albums’ tracks weren’t playing. So, he created new players, as well as a site design. This update (as well as a Vegas vacation) delayed the starting of recording of the tenth album.
